While on a cruise around the island of Cuba, one of our stop for supplies and fuel was Montego Bay, Jamaica. From the dock we had a short walk to where taxis were located. 10 minutes later we were in downtown Montego Bay. Each side of the main street is lined with souvenir shops and bars. Walking to the end brings you to the airport fence and a small but nice beach. Local offer to rub aloe on the ladies to prevent sun damage then have the nerve to ask for money. One of the highlights was stopping at Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville and enjoying the scenery overlooking the harbour, a few drinks and of course the water slide.

In May 2019 we toured the Arc de Triomphe. We were fortunate enpugh to see a ceremony take pace and then had the opportunity to climb to the top. The view of Paris from the top is outstanding in so many ways. We had been up the Eiffel Tower, which was in itself a very special day, but somehow the Arc de Triomphe brought on a different and special emotional response. So many sacrifices and significant history surrounding freedom.

Helicopter ride over the Hoover Dam with Papillion Grand Canyon Helicopters. Their bus picked us up from our hotel and took us to their base at Boulder City Municipal Airport. From there we watched a short safety video and up up and away we went. We flew over the dam and later landed in the Grand Canyon to enjoy a champagne picnic lunch. Outstanding experience I recommend for anyone with the Grand Canyon on their bucket list.

We were picked up at our hotel in Las Vegas and taken to the Boulder City Municipal Airport where we disembarked to register and watch a short safety video. We then met our pilot, Tori, and off we went on our tour. We flew over the Hoover Dam then journeyed to a landing spot deep in the Grand Canyon where we enjoyed a champagne picnic lunch. After lunch we took off for a return trip with one stop for fuel. An extraordinary experience that I recommend for anyone with a desire to visit the Grand Canyon in their lifetime.
